税金に関連して、税務大学校 National Tax College なるところがある。コンビニ国の官吏のために作られた機関らしい。大学校というのは、ほかに警察・防衛など、国に関係する機関のようだ。 税金といえば、Beatles の歌に taxman というのがあった。1970年前後に聞いた。歌詞は次のとおり。

1年に1度、最寄りの税務署に行くようになって20年になる。住宅控除を受けるために行くようになったが、毎年その時期になるとストレスを感じる。 僕のような国民の平均年収あるいはそれ以下ぐらいの者(この5年間は等比級数的にしだいに年収が半減している)が税務署に行くのはあまり意味がないようにも思うが、行かざるを得ない。
